The Government of India clears decks for 12,000 acres ITIR- Information technology Investment region projects in North Bangalore. Also, one of the biggest projects adjacent to the Bangalore International Airport (BIAL), the Devanhalli Business Park (DBP) is expected to attract an investment of $2.2 Billion. With a total area of 413.65 acres owned by Karnataka Industrial Investment & development Corporation Limited (KSIIDC) adjoining the Northern boundary of BIAL.
This DBP will include central business district, multi-specialty hospitals, financial district, retail & entertainment, 5 & 7 star hotels, aviation academy & lots of open space. The Karnataka government cleared investment worth of Rs. 28,000 crores including 1,400- acre Hardware Park promoted by ShapoorjiPallonji inDevanahalli, near Bangalore International Airport.
An aviation hub in Devanahalli is expected to see major US civil and military aviation companies as well as European Aeronautics AndDefense Systems (EADS) pump in up to Rs.125, 000 crores as investment. BEML is planning anRs.316 crore facility in the designed zone to provide design and manufacturing service in aircraft components sub-assemblies & MRO activities. Starracheckart Machine tools plans to invest Rs.127crores for aerospace component unit and will accommodate more than 9 lakh employees.
